Johan was fantastic and we will definitely be using them again next year." – Gerry Pienaar The popular ‘Buddy Bus’ - enabling visitors to rent a taxi for the day for a minimum of 7 people – is once again available. The service is available from 08h00 – 19h00 and you will be picked up, and dropped at your accommodation. If you need the services after 19h00, please request this in advance from your driver. (Extra costs involved) The service must be booked in advance and paid in full by 25 May 2011. New programs will be available from 27 February 2011 on www.wackywineweekend.com. 1. You will be supplied with your driver’s phone number on 30 May 2011. Arrange any changes to your schedule with him directly. 2. Payment is from 09h00 until 19h00 only. Any later drop offs are between you and your driver. They will charge extra. 3. We try our best to ensure quality vehicles for this day. Please understand that we are trying to support the local taxi community in this venture. We will inspect all vehicles before we reserve them for the day. However we cannot be held responsible for any unforeseen changes during the weekend. 4. We will not be responsible for any personal belongings lost in any of the vehicles. 5. Celebration of the Vine from fine wines and culinary creations to music and the arts is the focus of the 10th annual Stellenbosch Wine Festival, one of the biggest and oldest country food and wine festivals in the Cape, which returns to the Paul Roos Centre from 28 – 31 July this year.
A joyous experience of all things epicurean, the festival showcases over 500 Stellenbosch wines for visitors to sample along with gourmet delights from top chefs, educational wine and food workshops, and some of the finest entertainment and artistic talent these famous winelands have to offer, all under one roof.
The preceding Stellenbosch Wine Week which kicks off on Friday, 22 July, offers a feast of indulgences on many of the 150 farms that make up the Stellenbosch American Express® Wine Routes. Ideal for day trips or for a prolonged stay in the Winelands, the Stellenbosch Wine Week offers food and wine encounters at top wine estate restaurants, exclusive winemaker dinners and much more. Seating is limited at many of these bespoke events, so be sure to book early!
The Stellenbosch Wine Festival has become a tradition during the winter months and is a popular attraction for both local and international wine enthusiasts.
Tickets for the Stellenbosch Wine Festival range from R120 per person per day or R350 for the Golden Pass for the entire festival. The entry fee to the opening of the festival, an exclusive Wine Connoisseurs Evening from 16h00 till 21h00 on Thursday, 28 July, is R160 per person and includes gourmet delights.
